  Every autumn, we take kids fishing. Our annual Kids Fishing Invitational is open to the public, and children from all social and economic backgrounds are encouraged to attend, as well as those with physical disabilities. Our high water mark was 125 kids!  Fishing gear, lunch and refreshments are provided, along with guidance and assistance from Friends members. Kids learn not just how to fish but also how to catch and release, and how to be good stewards of the river. Boat rides also are a highlight of the day!  Other volunteers come from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indianapolis Fire Department and White River Environmental Partnership.
